There’s no denying that commitment, talent and hard work pay off and this has certainly been evident for local classical ballet dancer training at Jan Pianta School of Dance (JPSD).
Twelve-year-old Charli McInnes has been training at JPSD since the age of three and her journey in dance has been nothing but outstanding, from receiving top marks in dance exams with classical ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and winning first place trophies for a range of dance styles at the many dance eisteddfods Charli attends, to winning first place trophies in championships of classical ballet, jazz and tap along with most promising adjudicator awards, even winning a jazz solo out of 30 competitors in Thailand.
Last week Charli travelled to Melbourne to audition for the Melbourne Youth Ballet Company (MYBC) for a role in their upcoming production of Giselle.
Charli has heard back from MYBC, saying she has been successful, and is one of the youngest dancers chosen.
One of the criteria on the application form was having a high level of classical ballet training where she was required to class at MYBC with the artistic directors to prove it.
The role that has been given to Charli will be in act one and that of a village dancer.
Charli is very excited to have been chosen and Jan said she is now the fifth classical ballet dancer from JPSD to have been successful in receiving a role in the MYBC productions.
