Mirboo North's Koda Cook was all smiles, despite not landing the big bream he was targeting at last weekend's Twin Rivers Bream Classic. More photos page 15.

The bream were biting and the anglers were smiling as another Twin Rivers Bream Classic brought local waterways to life last weekend.

Close to 750 entrants from across the state reeled in 1308 bream on the Nicholson and Tambo Rivers, despite horrendous Saturday weather which including icy winds and rain which forced Sunday’s well-supported presentation at

Swan Reach Recreation Reserve off the football ground and onto the spectator hill.

There was also technical issues with a global IT problem making life difficult for organisers on Friday evening, however they soldiered on to deliver yet another spectacular event which has provided a financial boom for many local businesses.

The highlight of the weekend was at Sunday’s presentation with youngster, seven-year-old Lucas White winning the major raffle prize, a new boat and motor package.

The biggest bream was caught by Jason Bolch for the second year running, local lady Kym Klienitz being the best of the female anglers, while Lachie Peacock had the longest bream caught by a junior and the teams

event was won by Team Bolch.
