The Lakes Entrance under 17 netball side continued its brilliant East Gippsland netball season last Saturday, with an emphatic victory over Paynesville in round 11.
The Seagulls sit second on the ladder having only dropped the one game for the season, making light work of the Gulls who have only been victorious once.
It was an all over consistent performance by the Seagulls using the full court, with attack and defence working as a seamless unit.
In attack Lakes transitioned the ball through the midcourt into the goal circle, the shooters connecting well in the 43-goal victory, 47-4.
Defensively the Seagulls remained strong, catching loose balls while causing plenty of all important turnovers.
The match was a great show of dominance and skill affirming their position as a top contender for premiership honours in 2024.
Ginger Svetlik and Zoe Zagami both stood out in an outstanding team performance.
The winless Seagulls under 15s found the going tough against the fourth-ranked Gulls, although to their credit they stuck to the task and had some great passages of play.
Tayah Alsop worked hard in the centre in both attack and defence, while Lilly Eiseman did her best at goal attack, shooting some beautiful goals.
The Seagulls girls are showing with their effort and commitment that a win is close, the improvement in their game evident to all spectators and supporters.
The girls will have a weekend off prior to taking Boisdale Briagolong in an away game on July 13.
