The Lakes Entrance versus Wy Yung round nine under 17 East Gippsland netball clash pitted the second and third rated sides in the competition against each other, the seagulls setting up a 10-goal win with an outstanding first half of competitive netball.
The Seagulls led by four goals at quarter time and after an impressive 8-2 second term the lead was 10 by half time and the game as good as over.
The Tigers lifted in second half but the damage was done, Lucy Carroll and Tayla Mills leading the Seagulls home.
Lakes now has a two-game advantage over the third-placed Tigers, with the likelihood of maintaining the double chance advantage very high.
The under 15s continue to improve each week and although they were outclassed by the Tigers, there were some outstanding patches throughout the match where the young Seagulls showed they are more than capable of notching their first win in the coming weeks.
Awards went to Tulli McLeod and Tayah Alsop.
