Lakes Entrance Girl Guides had a fantastic time out on the water recently, paddling on the waters of Cunninghame Arm with Venture Out Australia.
While the wind had them pushed down the lake a bit, it didn’t dampen the fun the Guides and their leaders had as they paddled kayaks and stand-up paddle boards with Venture Out Australia’s Sarah Carlisle, with unit leader, Sue Grima (Blue Wren), and helper, Pete Johnstone (Skipper Pete), as perimeter guards.
As well as guiding the girls through the paddling activities, Sarah conducted water games with the Guides, which mainly involved jumping in the water, and proved to be very popular.
“It’s great to get outdoors with the Guides and the girls all did really well,” Sue said.
“They had been looking forward to it for a while, and they all had a ball. Evie McMeeken, who has been a Guide with us for four years, said last week, ‘it was the best guide night ever’, which is wonderful to hear.”
