Leap years bring an extra day each February and for the Cassar family it is a day they will never forget.
At 7.31pm on February 29, David and Amanda Cassar, of Lakes Entrance, welcomed their first child, baby boy Ezekiel, which they described as “miracle baby”.
“We had tried for over seven years, trying multiple things including IVF to conceive a child,” David said.
“Multiple disappointments and feelings of discouragement. We supernaturally felt in our hearts that we were not to give up, that we were to continue, we’d have a son, and his name would be Ezekiel.
“So we persevered and eventually we were blessed with our son Ezekiel. His name means ‘Strength Of God’.
“We weren’t the slightest bit fazed in the gender, but my wife still felt it would be a boy.”
