A field of 52 businesses representing the Gippsland business and industry sector will be vying for the coveted 2023 Gippsland Business Awards, with five Lakes Entrance businesses and one Metung business in the running across the 13 categories.
The Lakes Entrance finalists include Beachcomber Holiday Units (accomodation), Sandbar Boutique Motel (accomodation), Big Bear’s Donuts (innovation), Snowy River Biltong (innovation) and The General Lake Tyers Beach (25 Anniversary Award). Metung Hot Springs has been nominated in the tourism activities and attractions category.
Snowy River Biltong is produced at Basically Local, a food store located in the arcade near the Post Office in Lakes Entrance.
“We are humbled to be a finalist in the innovation category, particularly as we are only one year into this venture,” part owner Anne Kaiser said.
“There are some big players nominated in this category and we are still building, but we have been encouraged by East Gippsland Marketing.”
