What a week.
Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance (SLSLE) head of the bronze camp, Jessica Woodward, said her many instructors along with the participants faced numerous tests last week for the annual lifesaving camp, and the weather was not at all kind.
“There have been challenges, but the crew have handled every hurdle,” Jessica said.
The bronze camp was held from December 12 to 16.
The two main awards covered during the camp are the Bronze Medallion for those aged 15 and above, and the Surf Rescue Certificate for 13 to 14-year-olds.
The Bronze Medallion course provides participants with the skills and knowledge in order to be able to participate in surf life saving patrol operations, which take place at Main and Eastern beaches throughout summer.
