Local artists were commissioned by the East Gippsland Shire Council to be involved in creating footpath artwork in Lakes Entrance as part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival.
The festival took over Lakes Entrance at the weekend with the lantern parade on Saturday night attracting an enormous crowd to the area, helping kick off a busy start to the winter school holidays.
The theme given to the artists was ‘Sea Circus’, which was open for interpretation by each of the artists.
All artists used chalk and soft pastels to create their work on Saturday, June 25, along the footpath on the Esplanade in Lakes Entrance.
Christine Watterson was one of these local artists, who usually creates marine inspired art in her spare time.
