Diego Lazzar and his wife had been coming up to Lakes Entrance for the past 18 years and in March last year made the decision to move here permanently. However, not long after their move they became concerned about the disrepair and narrowness of the section of road on Golf Links Road between the Princes Highway and Palmers Road.
This piece of road has a large volume of traffic with motorists cutting through from the highway onto Palmers Road, including large trucks. There has also been an increase in housing development and a service station established.
Although the East Gippsland Shire fill the potholes, more appear continuously.
Mr Lazzar said there is only a narrow middle strip of road that is sealed, then either side has been added on.
It is a busy road and with motorists having to avoid potholes, Mr Lazzar saying the consen-sus of those living near this street is that it is an accident waiting to happen.
