Lakes vessel helps offshore wind project

Detailed site investigations are underway at sea and on land as Star of the South plans for Australia’s first offshore wind project.
They are carrying out studies and collecting data in and around the proposed project area in Bass Strait using local vessels.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to work with local suppliers and businesses as we progress Australia’s first offshore wind project, Star of the South,” development officer, Erin Coldham, said.
“Star of the South would harness strong offshore winds in Bass Strait to power Victorian homes, while creating local jobs.”
Bass Trek, a locally based boat, is one such example of engaging local vessels in this new and exciting project.
