An in-form Swifts Creek has snared the final spot in the Omeo District Netball League finals, registering its third consecutive victory with a dominant performance last Saturday.
The Demons travelled to Lindenow South with both sides aware that the winner would secure the last remaining finals position.
Swifts Creek left little doubt from the opening whistle, handing the Swampies a comprehensive 57-25 defeat. The loss proved particularly tough for Lindenow South on a day when team stalwarts Teegan Edwards and Lian Grumley lined up together for their milestone 300th games.
In the round’s other fixture, Buchan reaffirmed its status as the league’s prime challenger, prevailing in a hard-fought battle against nearest neighbour Bruthen by seven goals, 37-30.
Ladder leaders Omeo Benambra enjoyed a bye over the weekend. With just one round remaining before the 2026 finals series, the dominant side appears well-positioned to pursue a three-peat premiership, though a closely matched chasing pack promises an competitive finals campaign.
