The board of the Lakes Entrance Amateur Basketball Association has been busy finalising its leadership for the upcoming 2026/2027 season, announcing its first round of head squad coaches.
Last week, the association appointed Gabi Wright (under 10 girls), Danielle Piper (under 10 boys), Marissa McKean (under 12 girls), Jamie O’Donnell (under 12 boys), Tracey Sloan (under 14 girls), Andrew Wright (under 14 boys), Chloe Watson (under 16 girls), and Jason Whelan (under 16 boys) to lead the representative program.
More coaching appointments are expected to be announced over the coming week as coaching teams are finalised.
Squad tryouts commenced this week and will continue this coming Sunday and into next week.
This Sunday’s trials are scheduled as follows: under 12 girls (10.30am), under 14 girls (11.30am), under 16/18 girls (12.30pm), under 12 boys (2pm), under 14 boys (3pm), and under 16/18 boys (4pm).
Next Tuesday, July 21, sessions will run for the under 12 boys (6pm), under 14 boys (7pm), and under 16/18 boys (8pm).
The selection process will conclude on Wednesday night, July 22, with the under 10 boys and girls (5pm), under 12/14 girls (6pm), and under 16/18 girls (7pm) taking the court.
Members of the wider coaching team will be on hand throughout the process to assist the head coaches, ensuring selection is thorough, fair and gives every player an opportunity to showcase their skills.
