Lakes Entrance easily eclipsed Paynesville in round nine of the East Gippsland Junior Football Association at the Lakeside Oval last Sunday.
With key forwards Jacob Spiker (five) and Jude Campisi (four) combining for nine goals between them, the Seagulls put the game to bed early, winning by five goals in emphatic style.
The Lakes Entrance half back line was impassable, mopping up what escaped the stoppages as the forwards were inundated with inside 50s on a regular basis.
Callum Yates, Campisi, John Sowden, Jaxon Linn, Kobi Caldwell and Spiker were all standouts, with plenty of teammates not far behind.
The Seagulls sit in third place on the ladder but will need some luck to overtake current second-placed side Lucknow for the vital double chance, trailing by four points and considerable percentage. The under 15s had the week off, and with Lucknow not fielding a team, they sit comfortably in second place on the ladder.
The Seagulls will make the trip to Bairnsdale this Sunday, taking on the Redlegs at Bairnsdale City Oval, with proceedings commencing at 10.30am with the under 11s.
