Imaginative costumes and creative storytelling took centre stage recently as Metung Primary School hosted its magical ‘Fairy Tale Day’ celebration.
The special themed day welcomed staff, students, and visiting youngsters from the Swan Reach Kindergarten, who all arrived dressed up as their favorite fable and storybook characters.
The morning kicked off with interactive literacy sessions, where children were treated to dramatic, animated readings of The Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, brought to life with sound effects by the effervescent “Miss Eds”.
Following the storytelling, students participated in hands-on creative workshops. They built their own miniature ‘Three Little Pigs’ houses, crafted piggy money boxes, and sculpted favorite characters out of playdough.
Science also made an appearance during the festivities, with “Mr Jeanes” guiding the children through a bubble-maker building workshop. The interactive experiment proved to be a massive hit, seamlessly blending science concepts with outdoor fun.
