Nagle Catholic College students are set to bring one of the world’s most famous spooky families to life later this month with a production of The Addams Family.
The school production will take place on Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29 at the Saint Dominic Savio Centre in Bairnsdale, showcasing the talents of students in acting, music, dance and stage production.

Based on the iconic characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, The Addams Family follows the delightfully dark and eccentric family whose love of all things macabre has entertained audiences for generations through television and film adaptations.
The musical adaptation, featuring music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, was the first stage production created around the beloved characters.

Alongside familiar faces including Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley and Uncle Fester, the musical introduces new characters Mal, Alice and Lucas Beineke – a conservative Midwestern family whose worlds collide with the Addams household in humorous and unexpected ways.
The production also features an ensemble cast of Addams Family ancestors from different historical eras, adding to the musical’s gothic atmosphere and comedic energy.

Audiences can expect a mix of comedy, lively musical numbers and energetic choreography as students transform the stage into the Addams Family’s strange and mysterious world.
Year 12 student and production director Sophie said the show offered audiences a fresh take on the classic characters.
“You should definitely come see the show because the dancing, choreography and songs are brilliant and it shows a new side to the Addams Family,” she said.
Performances will begin at 7.30 pm on both evenings at the Saint Dominic Savio Centre, Nagle Catholic College, Bairnsdale.
Tickets are available through TryBooking, with organisers encouraging early bookings due to expected demand.
