The Wellington Gippsland Tennis Association is turning 100 and is planning to celebrate in style.
A gala centenary dinner will be held on Saturday, February 28, to mark a century of competitive tennis in the region.
During the evening, 30- and 40-year lifetime player awards will be presented to those dedicated players who have contributed to the sport over the long term, both on and off the court.
Clubs are invited to nominate current competition players who have played on and off for 30 or 40 years — the stalwarts who consistently pull on the club colours and quietly form the backbone of tennis in the region.
The night promises memories, milestones, legends, laughter and plenty of great stories from the courts. Whether you’ve played, coached, volunteered, spectated or cheered from the sidelines, this celebration is for you.
Tickets, venue and full event details will be announced soon, but tennis enthusiasts are encouraged to save the date.
