Lakes Entrance families and holidaymakers filled the foreshore last Saturday for the first free Family Fun Festival – Summer Series event, a relaxed, family-friendly afternoon sponsored by Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association and Smith Creative and the first of several free events running throughout January.

The afternoon featured a free program of entertainment on the grass near the ocean footbridge, including oversized games and free face painting for the kids, along with a live set from Taylor Sonier, winner of Maritime Idol and former La Voix contestant.

Sonier said performing by the water for locals and visitors was a highlight

of her summer.

“It was such a joy to share music with the Lakes Entrance community. Seeing locals and visitors come together in the sunshine was a beautiful reminder of why I love performing,” Taylor said.

Families brought picnic rugs, stretched out on the grass and soaked in the sunset as the first event of the summer rolled smoothly into the evening.

The fun continues this Saturday, with Ryan Shore performing from around 5pm.

“Lakes Entrance has such a vibrant atmosphere at this time of year and I’m very excited to be bringing some tunes to town this Saturday, live on the Esplanade,”

Ryan said.

Kids’ activities, giant lawn games and free face painting from 4pm return again, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Bring a picnic, enjoy the foreshore and settle in for another evening of live music, summer sunshine and community connection.
