Last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun attracted another solid muster with 133 participants out early, enjoying the significant drop in temperature.

They all enjoyed the picturesque weekly five-kilometre sojourn along the esplanade where people run, jog or walk for fun or fitness.

The event was led home by teenager Archer Thorne in his first look at the course, posting an impressive 17 minutes and 52 seconds, with the first female Mikhaila Bromwich (20.44) in a personal best time.

The event attracted 47 first timers and 14 people recorded new personal bests, with representatives of 14 different clubs taking part.

Personal best times were recorded by Toby Smith (19.58), Bryce Martin (20.28), Thomas Craven (21.04), Jay Symons (23.08), Isaiah Baxter (25.30), Keith Richardson (25.31), Lincoln Baxter (25.42), Peter Stadler (26.10), Jaxson Weeks (29.17), Matthew Richards (29.46), Melissa Eastwood (30.56), Debbie Cupitt (38.41) and Allison Triggs (38.59).

Representatives of Lakes and District Runners, Knox Triathlon Club, Traralgon Harriers, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, Riviera Triathlon Club, East Gippsland Runners, Running Mums Australia, The Turtles, Athletics Nunawading,

Sale and District Runners, Caine SMaRTT, ULTRA Mediocre Runners of Canberra, Point Cook Runners and Benalla Running Group took to the course.

The event departs the rotunda at 8am each and every Saturday.

Local runner Keith Richardson is currently in great form, again running an impressive personal best time in last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun. (PS)
