Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club continues to be active in recruiting, adding former players Josh Wykes and Tarkyn Nicol this week.
That’s off the back of the announcement of the homecoming of Xavier Woodland in October.
Wykes, who has played sparingly in recent seasons due to fly-in fly-out work, returns to Lakes after six seasons in the Gippsland League where he played more than 70 senior games for Bairnsdale.
A true homegrown talent, Wykes began his football journey with Lakes as an under 12s junior player and went on to represent the Seagulls in 79 games.
Throughout his career, Wykes has earned selection in multiple interleague teams and also represented Gippsland Power, showcasing his talent and competitiveness at higher levels.
Primarily playing as a ruck, he brings experience, presence and strong football intelligence back to the Seagulls lineup.
Nicol returns home after spending the past two years playing for Pint Football Club in the Northern Territory.
Nicol played junior football, including under 16s and 18s, for the Seagulls before heading north to Darwin.
A versatile and dynamic player, he can be deployed across half back, half forward, or through the midfield as an onballer, offering flexibility and strong run-and-carry to the team.
Both are excellent additions to the Seagulls’ list.
