Rain played havoc with Bairnsdale Cricket Association (BCA) matches again last weekend, with Lakes Entrance’s “A” grade side getting no play, and “B” grade washed out after 28 overs.
Currently sixth on the BCA “A” grade ladder, the Seagulls will now play Meerlieu in a one-day game at Meerlieu this Saturday, which possibly suits the Tiussocks better, but the Seagulls will still go in as warm favourites.
Lakes Entrance will be keen to build on their three wins, four losses, one no result and a bye when they hopefully resume this week after missing the last two weeks with a bye and inclement weather.
Lakes will be buoyed by the fact it outclassed the Tussocks in early November in a one-day match at the Lakeside Oval.
In “B’ grade, Lakes Entrance had reached 5/107 off 28 overs at home when the rain arrived, the majority of the runs were made by Jacob Daly (40 not out) and Michael Poynton (45 from 52).
This week the Seagulls will host Meerlieu at the Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve.
