Minister at St Nicholas’ Anglican Church, Colin Oakley, has just completed his first year at Lakes Entrance.
Parishioners have expressed their gratitude that he was chosen to be with them in such a welcoming and warm environment, which has continued to grow over the year.
The church has created a Nativity scene at its entrance, depicting Mary and Joseph in a barn with their baby boy, Emmanuel, who was later named Jesus Christ. They are surrounded by three wise men, angels and farm animals.
This week, the church celebrated the wonderful contributions that two ‘young
at heart’ parishioners have made at St
Nic’s. They are Don Brady and Bella Barnetby, who have felt loved and part of the
church community.
Bella is an integral part of the St Nic’s Opportunity Shop, where she has volunteered
for many years. Don has been a valued contributor over the years as the church’s “ideas man”, always offering suggestions for additions and activities that could be incorporated into the parish.
