Long-serving Lakes Entrance Golf Club member, Gary Jeal, has been recognised for his service with the ultimate accolade – life membership.
The club this week announced Jeal’s elevation after years of dedicated service and significant contributions.
Jeal has played a pivotal role in enhancing the wonderful club, the honour reflects the club’s gratitude for his unwavering support and commitment to the community.
There was again plenty of on-course action over the past seven days, with an event even staged on Sunday.
Last Tuesday in Young and the Rest of Us, Lorna Tiziani and Judith Collins were again at the pointy end of the leaderboard, with Tiziani victorious by a solitary shot.
Wednesday saw the deciding of the 2025 ladies’ foursome championship, which was won by Nadine Martin and Fiona Haslam. Other winners were Olivia Chester and Emily Derham, as well as Ruth McPhee and Val Gilbert.
Thursday’s medley stableford was dominated by “B” grade player Steve Dinham, who accumulated an impressive 41 points.
Justin Gray continued his good recent form taking “A” grade, while Adrian Parry was successful in “C” grade on countback.
Again more than 100 players teed up on Saturday for stableford, Robyn Downing the victor in the women’s with an outstanding 42 points, with Julie Rowe’s 40 good enough for second.
Ron Brymer was a standout in the men’s event, winning overall and “D” grade with an impressive 41 points.
Dinham continued his run of form to take “C” grade, with Clint Dostine was successful in “B” grade while Dean Grining won “A” grade on countback.
Garry Morrison led the field home in Sunday’s orange tee stroke day, finishing two under, a shot ahead of Collins.
