Thumbs Up Thumbs Down 25/11/2025

in Local News

THUMBS DOWN: To East Gippsland Shire Council for seemingly allowing free camping along the foreshore in Lakes Entrance.

THUMBS UP: Thumbs up to JJ’s Cafe in Paynesville for great food and customers service.

THUMBS UP: To Dave and Maxine – the two St John’s Ambulance volunteers who were onsite at the Metung Fun Run. Your professionalism and patience was greatly appreciated by event organisers and the participant who required attention. To all the volunteers, sponsors, supporters for making the 2025 Metung Fun Run into a well-run annual event that both serious and hobby runners alike, look forward to every single year.

THUMBS DOWN: To a local business owner along with staff and customers who mock people as they come and go from other establishments.

THUMBS UP: To the Nagle College student who spke so well at the Bairnsdale RSL Remembrance Day service.

THUMBS DOWN: To the store which has $7.50 iced coffee on the menu but charges $10 for it at the till.

THUMBS UP: To the Lindenow Lions’ 50th anniversary. The hall was full, the meals were delicious and the speeches and entertainment were fantastic, serious and fun.

THUMBS DOWN: To the man who accused my husband of stealing before walking into a shop, in front of our two kids.

THUMBS UP: To the Family History Group Lakes Entrance for guiding me past a challenging research road block and generously sharing their knowledge, which renewed confidence and advanced my family history journey.
