The Sale Agricultural Show will celebrate 160 years of history, thrills and community spirit when it returns from Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 2 at the Sale Showgrounds.
The milestone event will feature fresh attractions, popular traditions and a world-first monster truck stunt to mark Gippsland’s longest-running
agricultural event.
The Friday night carnival promises all
the thrills of bright lights, big rides and loud engines, culminating in the spectacular Colmac Homes fireworks display from 9pm.
The Main Arena will roar with the return of the monster trucks and a highly anticipated world-first stunt from Gippsland’s own Michael Xuereb.
The fast-paced shetland steeplechase will make its debut alongside crowd favourites such as the dog high jump, young farmer’s challenge and the Gippsland open flag and barrel classic. The Most Magnificent Mullet Competition is expected to be a fun new addition to the festivities.
The much-loved Kids Zone will return
on Friday and Saturday mornings with
a pet parade, animal nursery, wildlife
and reptile displays, face painting and kids entertainment.
Strongly-contested livestock categories will highlight the pride of Gippsland agriculture and select the region’s best cattle, sheep, goats and poultry.
Pavilions will showcase Gippsland’s creative and culinary talents, featuring floral art, photography, cake decorating, handicraft and produce displays, along with the famous Great Gippsland Carrot Cake Contest.
Showjumping will take centre stage at the Main Arena on Friday and Saturday and additional equestrian events will feature on Sunday.
More than 10,000 people attended last year’s Sale Show, and organisers are confident that this milestone year
will see even greater crowds and community participation.
Sale Agricultural Society president Richard Crooke said the volunteer committee, representing one of the oldest community organisations in Gippsland, had worked tirelessly to make the 160th Show a memorable one.
“Every year, the Sale Show brings people together to celebrate our agricultural excellence, rural traditions and community spirit,” he said.
“Marking our 160th show is a remarkable achievement that is testament to the strong community support this event enjoys. From our generous sponsors, patrons and committee, to the passionate competitors and entrants – our community has helped make this one of Victoria’s strongest agricultural events for more than a century-and-a-half.”
The 160th Sale Agricultural Show is proudly supported by major sponsors Esso and Woodside Energy.
Gates will open from 9am daily. Tickets will be available at the gate. Early bird discounts are available online
