Each year the East Gippsland Shire assesses the condition of local roads and select those that require improvement and it has been announced that Roadknight Street in Lakes Entrance has been earmarked for evaluation.
Funding has been allocated to design upgraded road infrastructure and accessible pedestrian pathways along Roadknight Street to improve user safety and experience between Myer Street and Palmers Road.
The project encompasses the design of upgraded road and drainage infrastructure and pedestrian pathways to better serve the community.
Council says this will include:
– Installing new kerb and channel
– Upgrading underground drainage
– Renewing footpaths and shared/bicycle paths
– Improving road pavement to meet current standards
– Formalising carriageways and street intersections
– Enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety
Investigation and concept designs are scheduled during the 2024/25 financial year to facilitate future funding and planning arrangements.
This project does not include street lighting, off-street carparking, landscaping, crossovers and driveway construction, and drainage work on private property.
The public is invited to provide feedback on this project through the You Say website.
Comments will close at 12pm, Tuesday, October 28.
