Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance’s (SLSLE) 2025 Bronze Camp will be held from December 7 to 13 this year, with two awards available – Surf Rescue Certificate for 13+ years old and Bronze Medallion 15+.
“The camp is an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, developing aquatic rescue skills, as well as learning about emergency care and patrols,” SLSLE’s Jessica Woodward said.
“Candidates will also explore their leadership potential and team related themes. At the conclusion of the camp candidates will be able to patrol our local beaches, all while having run.”
Junior male captain Charlie Graham encourages all young people to get involved in Bronze Camp.
“Bronze Camp helped me build confidence, resilience and teamwork,” he said.
“The camp really pushed me outside my comfort zone and showed what I am
capable of.”
SLSLE club captain, Eden McMillan, has announced that patrols on Main Beach will begin on weekends from November 15.
“Our flags will be up from then, so come down to Main Beach where you will find our patrols on a Saturday from 1pm to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm. During January, you can find our paid guards at both Eastern Beach and Main Beach,”
she said.
“Remember if you are going to go for a swim, between the red and yellow flags is always the safest place. If you are going to surf or fish, please stay well away to keep the public safe.
“Got questions about beach safety? Our lifesavers and lifeguards are always up
for a chat.”
