In just his second parkrun and first on the Lakes Entrance course, Nathan Broerson led the field home in a time of 21 minutes and 43 seconds last Saturday.
Broerson was one of 19 first-time runners to tackle the five kilometre course along the esplanade, finishing just ahead of local Harry Reed (21.46), who was one of three participants to record a personal best time.
Teenager Mia Calleja (22.32) was the first female across
the line.
The weather was stunning as the 47-strong field departed in sunny conditions with a light breeze.
Visitors from Brisbane, Canberra, Coonawarra, Moe and other Victorian towns tackled the course for fun and fitness.
Other runners to post personal bests included James Saunders (22.38) and Dallas Riseley (32.09).
Participants departed from the rotunda at 8am with representatives from the Super Slow Running Club, Bodyslam Bounders, Lakes and District Runners, The Adventurers and Southern Peninsula Sports Club all spotted on the course.
