An absolutely fabulous time was had at
Lakes Entrance Rocktober with a large crowd of locals and visitors enjoying numerous activities
over last weekend.
“Both night dances were sold out and totally rocking and the day activities on Myer Street were well received with Rockers and the local community,” LE Rocks committee member, Rima Pescod, said.
“Thankfully the weather gods were kind to us with fantastic weather.”
Myer Street was closed off for the event and
transformed into a music, dance, cafe and market stall venue.
The weekend also included dance and makeup workshops and a Show and Shine on the Sunday with some beautiful classic and custom cars exhibited.
“A massive thank you to Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association (LEADA) for their support and sponsorship in helping with the road closure and to our sponsors, local and afar, for their overwhelming support,” Rima said.
“All proceeds from the weekend went to Melons Cottage and on Saturday night Peter Simpson from the cottage attended the dance with his son Alfie to thank everyone for their support.
“At this stage the fundraiser has raised $5032.89 with more funds to come.”
Chairperson for LEADA Business, Tourism and Events subcommittee, Sharen Cameron, said Rocktober – Music on Myer is all about celebrating community and supporting the town’s traders.
“Music on Myer brings everyone together, locals, visitors and businesses, for a weekend that celebrates everything we love about Lakes Entrance, it is fun, family friendly and all for a great cause,” she said.
