The highlight of the golfing week at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club was 104 players teeing up on AFL grand final for the

medley stableford.

Classy left hander and “B” grader David Murrell led the field home with an outstanding round of 42 points, with the long-driving Ron Beattie taking “C” grade with 40 points, with “A” grade taken out by Gary Morrison on countback from three handicapper,

Dean Grining.

In the teams event, Murrell combined with Brian Hammond, Allan Lawson and Ron Brymer for the win with 95 points.

Last Tuesday at Ruthless and Toothless, Ian Stephens was the “A” grade winner and Ken Butler the “B” grade victor.

Clint Dostine posted the best round, a sensational 39, highlighted by 13 putts.

Lorna Tiziani was the winner at Young and the Rest of Us.

Wednesday’s 4BBB stableford was taken out by Sue Wilson and Marlene Holmes with a score of 46, finishing well ahead of runners-up Renee Percival and Katrina Fearnley.

There was some great scoring last Thursday with the winners of all three grades posting 41 stableford points.

Popular “C’ grade winner Donny Blamire was also the overall winner, with Barry Brand taking “A” grade and Frank McNamara “B” grade on countback from Stuart Symes.
