It was another competitive week of local golf at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club, as numbers begin to pick up with the improved weather.
Last Tuesday at Young and the Rest of Us, Faye Hammond led the field home, with Robyn Downing runner-up.
David Cuthbertson took “A” grade at Ruthless and Toothless, and Michael Goorden “B” grade.
The best round was recorded by Garry Watson (40), with the putting award going to Tony Fedat.
Sandy East put together an outstanding round to win the Wednesday stableford, taking “B” grade and the overall event with 40 points.
Olivia Chester was also in great form, the victor in “A” grade with 38 points.
Thursday’s event was American foursomes stroke, which attracted 71 players and was won by Jonathon and Stuart Yates, with a score of 70.375
Saturday was men’s monthly medal day, which was snared brilliantly by “B” grade player, Les Beattie with a splendid 67 net, winning the medal on countback from “C” grade player Laurie Thomson, Shane Sproule taking “A” grade with 71 net.
Di Gray shot the lights out in women’s event, banking a superb 66 net, easily victorious in “B” grade and the overall event.
Nadine Martin was the winner in “A” grade with 70 net.
