The Lakes Entrance Volunteer Craft Group once more had a successful season opening its pop-up shop over the warmer months.
Recently it has been busy donating the proceeds to local organisations.
The shop is popular with both the local community and visitors and is stocked to the brim with unique handmade items.
“We have a wide range of goods and our ladies are already busy making things for our next
opening,” president Rosemary Kavadis said.
“Donations of wool, material or any other goods that would help us create are always appreciated
and we can arrange for them to be picked up.
“The table runners, patchwork bags, pot and bowl holders are always popular along with the beautiful knitwear, pottery and plants. There is just such a lovely array of items on offer.”
Rosemary said the volunteers are not just busy making their crafts but are a social group who support each other with meet ups or outings to theatre shows or meals.
“Even if it is just to catch up for coffee, we like to get ourselves out,” she said
“We have a lot of fun and are a great bunch of ladies. Working in the shop is also a social time for us.”
The group recently made donations to Lakes Entrance Ambulance Auxiliary, Lakes Entrance Men’s Shed, Christmas in Lakes and the Lakes Entrance Family History Resource Centre.
They are always looking for individuals or community groups that are in need of some support in the local area.
“Last December we donated a bladder scanner to Cunninghame Arm Medical Centre, which is used by locals and those visiting the area,” Rosemary said.
“Each and every member of the volunteer group would like to thank those who generously support the shop and those who contributed in any way. We are looking forward to another enjoyable season and invite any interested ladies to come and join us,” Rosemary said.
