Lucknow Football Netball Club recently joined forces with the junior arm of its club to give its players an unforgettable football experience.
While the club hosted Lindenow in round 11 of the East Gippsland Football Netball League, the under 11 and 13 players were invited to step into the world of senior footy with the Lucknow reserves and seniors, and what an experience it was.
The youngsters warmed up with the players, sat in on the pre-game addresses from Chris Johnson (reserves coach) and Shaun Mooney (senior coach), running water for the reserves, running out onto the field with the boys and belting out the song loud and proud after the seniors won.
The impact this had on the juniors was huge, the smiles, excitement, and the stories that followed were a reminder of how powerful moments like these can be in youngsters’ development.
Parents reported the youngsters haven’t stopped talking about it since Saturday, in what was a special day for the whole club, and one that could possibly become an annual event.
