A sense of normality returned to the Lakes Entrance Golf Club with play completed on four days after rain played havoc with several events recently.
Tuesday’s Young and the Rest of Us event was won by Lorna Tiziani, on countback from Carole Dostine, who almost backed up
her winning effort seven
days prior.
Ron Baldock was runner-up with Frank McNamara winning the putting with 14.
Wednesday’s medley stableford event and “A” grade was taken out by David Smythe (72 nett), with Anita Bertram (73 nett) successful in “B” grade as well taking out the monthly medal.
Ian McKenna had all the answers last Thursday, dominating the field winning the event and “B” grade with a sensational 40 points in the stableford event.
Rob Sperring was victorious in “A” grade with 37 points while Geoff Dobbin played consistently, successful in “C” grade with 36 points.
Saturday saw 76 players take to the fairways with Rhonda Beckett the overall winner of the ladies event, also winning “B” grade and monthly pin with a score of plus four.
Di Dickson was victorious in “A” grade with a score of plus six, finishing just ahead of club champion Renee Percival, who had to be
satisfied with two nearest the
pin victories.
The men’s monthly was taken out by Peter Nicholas (-1), who also won “B” grade.
Ian Thomson was the winner of “A” grade with Jim Dear taking “C” grade.
Club champion Mick McManus carded the best score of the day with 78.
