It was a tight "B" grade match between Lucknow and Lindenow last Saturday at the Lucknow Recreation Reserve, with the Magpies pulling away to win by three goals.

Boisdale Briagolong was too good for Wy Yung in the match of the round in East Gippsland “A” grade netball at the Cabbage Patch last Saturday.

Both sides went into the clash quietly confident, the fourth-placed Bombers keen to keep their double chance hopes alive while second-placed Wy Yung eager to further consolidate its hold on the vital spot.

But after a flying start from the Bombers, the contest failed to live up to expectations as Boisdale strolled away with a 52-31 win.

Hannah Pratt and Mollie Huts led the way, both in superb touch for the Bombers.

The victory lifted the Bombers to third on the table with the Tigers paying the price for a poor performance, dropping to fourth.

Stratford didn’t get it all its own way at Orbost against the reigning premier, who battled valiantly against quality opposition.

The Swans were too steady down the stretch, winners 53-40, with standout efforts from Coco Henry and Tori Patterson.

Orbost, who sit in fifth place, are now three matches outside the top four so disappointingly they will not get a chance to defend their title in this year’s finals series.

Jorja Savory was again outstanding for

the Blues, but even her efforts couldn’t get her side home.

Lakes Entrance won its second match

of the season making short work of the

winless Paynesville, victorious 59-26 at the Lakeside Oval.

Lucy Carroll and Emma Yates led the way for the Seagulls, with Abbey Wyatt, Teneill Walker and Hayley Davies battling hard for the Gulls.

Ladder leader Lucknow maintained its perfect record with a 19-goal win at home over a competitive Lindenow.

Hayley Escudero, Erica Lynch and Anna-Lisa Short were among the best for the Magpies, with Alana Websdale, Gabby Foster and Molly Lawson all giving a good account of themselves for the Cats.

After the competition bye this weekend action will return for round 12 on July 19 with Wy Yung and Lucknow clashing in the match of

the round. Lindenow will welcome Orbost Snowy Rovers, Paynesville will be at home to Boisdale Briagolong, with Stratford hosting Lakes Entrance.
