The Lakes Entrance Tennis Club’s Tuesday social night competition concluded for season two last week.
Eight teams of four players competed weekly, hampered only by a couple of washouts along the way.
To make a night of it on the last night, all eight teams played ensuring a good gathering throughout the finals and for the social festivities afterwards.
Team Barty consisting of Mike Spruzen, Warrick Munday, Michael McMaster and Karina Thompson had to fight all the way to the end to edge out Team Hewitt in the grand final.
Team Hewitt was represented by James Murphy, Raf Marques, Brooke McKenna and Allan Camilleri.
Going into the last two sets of the night, the match was still on the line with Barty surging late to win five sets 32 games to one set 27 games.
Final ladder placings were third Dokic, fourth Laver, fifth Cash, sixth Rafter, seventh Goolagong and eight de Minaur.
The next season starts after the school holidays on Tuesday, July 22.
