Di Gray continued her outstanding form last Wednesday, finishing with another outstanding score, this time 41 points. Sue Wilson also impressed with 39 points, but it was only enough for runner-up. (PS)

Saturday’s event at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club was men’s stroke with Matt Stevens having a magnificent round shooting a one-under 71 off the stick, equating to a sensational 62 nett.

Dave Smythe won “A” grade with an impressive 69 nett, while Peter Kane (“B” grade) and Steve Alsop (“C” grade) were respective winners with 68 nett.

The women’s event was taken out by Betty Martino, whose 74 nett was enough to win overall and “B” grade.

Apola Weel won “A” grade on countback from club champion, Renee Percival, with both ladies winning two nearest the pins.

Last Tuesday in Ruthless and Toothless, numbers were lean with only 23 players teeing up, Peter Knights the winner in “A” grade and Roy Roberts taking out “B” grade.

Di Gray continued her outstanding form on Wednesday, winning the ladies’ event with 41 points, with Sue Wilson the runner-up with 39.

Due to the wet conditions from recent high tides, the ladies’ played the back nine on two occassions.

Thursday’s event was restricted to a nine-hole medley stableford with Shane Sproule negotiating the back nine with a magnificent 21 points, finishing ahead of Bruce Coulton.

Sunday was Orange Tee Day with 14 players taking to the course, Anita Bertram the winner on countback from Kai Douglas with both shooting 63s.

Recent high tides have impacted the Lakes Entrance Golf Course, creating some additional hazards and dampen conditions on the front nine. (PS)
