Jamie Darcy lit up the Lakes Entrance Parkrun course on Saturday morning, posting the third fastest time ever recorded for the picturesque five-kilometre run along the esplanade.
Darcy crossed the line in a sensational 16 minutes and eight seconds, an astonishing personal best by 26 seconds.
His time has only been bettered by Xavier Chapman (April 27, 2024) and Erik Ueda (December 31, 2022), who both recorded 16 minutes and six seconds.
Darcy finished four minutes in front of Mark Rossiter (21.18), who enjoyed the exercise and chance to clear the head after a tough week at work, with the first female across the line, Vivian Zheng (22.03) third overall.
A field of 43 enthusiasts tackled the weekly event, 18 of which were newcomers who enjoyed the opportunity to walk, jog and run with likeminded people for fun, fitness or both.
There were four personal best times and seven running groups represented.
Personal best times were achieved by Sharon Madeley (29.59), Cody Cuthbertson (40.29) and Karin Brown (45.02).
Running clubs represented included Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Traralgon Harriers, Run Like A Girl, Running Bolts, Pakenham Road Runners and Everlasting Fitness Group.
The run departs from the rotunda each Saturday morning at 8am, with a briefing is at 7.50am.
