THUMBS UP: To the person who handed in my engagement ring at the BARC. My husband died recently and the ring was very precious to me. Thank you so much for your honesty.
THUMBS DOWN: To the water temperature at the BARC main pool. Twenty-seven degrees is too cold for the little kids and the citizens who are frequent users of the facility.
THUMBS UP: To all the polling station workers and AEC staff, for a job well done. We are so very lucky, to live in a country where elections are fair, free and transparent – and where the losers are gracious and accepting of the outcomes.
THUMBS DOWN: To the motorists who find it extremely difficult to use indicators at the roundabout near the United on the eastern side of Bairnsdale. How are fellow motorists expected to know which direction you’re heading. An accident waiting to happen.
THUMBS UP: To all the Orbost hospital staff who looked after me so well recently. Also, a big thank you to the nurses from New Zealand for your contribution to the running of our healthcare system.
THUMBS UP: To the young man that came to help me in the hospital car park after I had injured my hand when the boot lid fell on it. He was the angel I needed when I was so shaken up.
THUMBS DOWN: To the disrespectful, disgraceful visitors or home owners that travel down Riches Road in Sarsfield. We were the first ones on this road and have had our farm for more than 65 years. Respect the country farm life, the animals we have crossing the road, respect the dozens of signs saying slow down, and them saying stock crossing. Someone killed two of our beloved chickens on Sunday, May 11. We are appalled and completely sick and tired of people not having any common sense travelling so fast on a farm-based and big stretch of gravel road. Use your brains and be courteous and slow the heck down.
THUMBS UP: To a local auto electrician. I booked my vehicle in to have air brakes fitted so I could tow my new horse float. After I dropped of my vehicle he called me and told me I had already got them. He could’ve charged me and I would have been none the wiser. Thanks very much.
THUMBS UP: To Jim from the Orbost SES for organising a crew to cut off a tree on the Errinundra Road.
