Lakes Entrance Secondary College proudly joined schools across the country in supporting Do It For Dolly Day last Friday, May 9, a national day of kindness held in memory of Dolly Everett, encouraging young people to speak up, reach out and be kind.
The college was a sea of blue as students and staff embraced the day with enthusiasm, dressing up and getting involved in a range of fun lunchtime activities including bead making, face painting, coloured hairspray, braiding, a treasure hunt and the ever-popular guess the lolly jar.
There were prizes awarded for their best dressed student and best dressed staff member competitions, celebrating those who really went all out in blue.
The afternoon’s highlight was the much anticipated colour run and slip and slide, with cheers, laughter and vibrant colour filling the school oval.
Staff members said it was a fantastic display of community spirit and a powerful reminder of Dolly’s message that kindness matters.
