Lucknow, Boisdale Briagolong and Wy Yung all remain unbeaten after two rounds of East Gippsland “A” grade netball.
Last year’s minor premier, Lucknow, sits on top of ladder, with a
huge percentage, after trouncing
Paynesville 84-18.
Anna-Lisa Short, coach and mid court dynamo Eric Lynch and Macy Tatnell were standouts for the Magpies.
The Gulls struggled for winners with Hayley Davies, Teneill Walker and Nyla Rabbitt all trying hard against tough opposition.
Boisdale Briagolong was too slick for Lakes Entrance, triumphant over the Seagulls by a comfortable 20 goals.
Emily Porter, Natalie Allman and Mollie Huts impressed for the Bombers, with Lucy Carroll and Skyla White among the better players for
the Seagulls.
In last year’s preliminary final replay it was the Wy Yung who were victors this time over Orbost Snowy, but nothing will erase the memory of that
magnificent premiership won by the Blues in 2024.
Wy Yung was too steady in the second half, winning by 14 goals, Michaela Ward and Stevie Alvin in sparkling touch with Jewel Catlin, Jorja Savory and Cat Di Cecco the best for Orbost who tried hard but were no match early in the season opposed to a genuine premiership contender in 2025.
Stratford won the final match by 18 goals over Lindenow, opening its account for the season.
Lilli Stobie, Sierra Cook and Tori Patterson all impressed for the impressive Swans, while Ashleigh Forehan, Gabby Foster and Brooke Perrett were all prominent for the Cats.
In this week’s matches, Boisdale Briagolong will be much too good for Paynesville, Lucknow and Wy Yung will be a close contest, while Orbost Snowy Rovers and Lindenow is potentially a good match.
