It was a great result for Lakes Entrance in round two of the East Gippsland Junior Football Association competition with both the under 13 and 15 teams victorious against Lucknow at the Lucknow Recreation Reserve on Sunday.
The under 13s kicked three goals to one in a frantic first term, the defence doing an outstanding result to just concede that major for the match.
The young Seagulls kicked seven goals of their own throughout the contest, running out five-goal winners, recording their first win for the season in their initial hitout.
The coaching panel found it hard to single out good players in a great team performance, with goals shared between Cooper Kennedy (two), Patrick McGinty, Makayla Sowden, Keanu Brown, Ollie Anderson and
Jacob Spiker.
In the under 15s the Seagulls outclassed the Magpies, holding them goalless as they ran out sensational 50-point winners.
Lakes Entrance had many avenues to goal, with Kye Piper (five), Billy Warfe (three), Tayte Gibbs and Cohen Kleinitz (two each) the multiple goal kickers.
The win propelled the Seagulls to the top of the ladder, with the coaching panel naming Evan Pompei, Isaac Zagami, Ayden Martin, Osgar Johanson, Piper and Durome Abbey in the better players, but they had plenty of competition in a complete team performance.
Lakes Entrance will host Orbost Snowy Rovers in a local derby at the Lakeside Oval this Sunday.
