There are still plenty of nice catches being pulled ashore, with a few more hot spots up for grabs now the holiday makers have returned home.
Lakes Entrance: Bream are still plentiful, biting on fresh baits, while for flathead give hard bodied lures, fresh prawn and soft plastics a try. Prawns are still in the lakes but are declining in numbers. King George whiting are in Reeves Channel also taking fresh prawn. Offshore for snapper, gummy and mako shark.
Lake Tyers: For something different, try eel fishing, using rod and reel or hand line, early morning or after dark are the best times with pipis as bait. The entrance is still open.
Metung: Kingfish are around the jetties, whilst the boardwalk has salmon, trevally, pinkies and bream.
