Lakes Entrance thirds have began their 2025 East Gippsland Football Netball campaign with an impressive victory over Lucknow in round one at the Lucknow Recreation Reserve.
Very little separated the sides in a tight first half, the Seagulls narrow leaders at half time by just a point.
But they upped the ante in second half, booting 10 goals to three, to run out easy 45 point winners, with still plenty of improvement to come under the coaching of senior player, Jordan Cullen.
Oscar Hopkins impressed slotting four majors, while Harper Davis finished with three and the hard working Charlie Graham with two.
Davis was a stand out, joined in the best players by Brayden Meyer, Bill Prior, Graham, Hopkins and Harrison Benentt.
The Seagulls led Lucknow by seven points at half time in the reserves after kicking three unanswered goals in the second term before struggling to get their hand on the ball in the second half.
Lakes Entrance scoring only a solitary point, as the Magpies piled on eight goals to run out 47 point winners.
Kurt Grabham, Cameron Ferris, James Daly, Davis, William Addison and Logan Brown amongst the best for Lakes Entrance.
With a number of players to come back into the senior team in the coming weeks, the Seagulls are expecting significant improvement at reserves level under the tutelage of Steve Cole.
