Beachcomber Holiday Units highly commended

Beachcomber Holiday Units has proudly represented Victoria on the national stage at the 2024 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, receiving a highly commended recognition in the prestigious Self-Contained Accommodation category.

Held on Friday, March 21, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the awards celebrated their 40th anniversary, honouring the nation’s top tourism businesses. Beachcomber Holiday Units was acknowledged as one of the best in the country, achieving an impressive score of over 80 per cent from the National Judging Panel.

Owners Rebecca and Marty said the recognition is a testament to the love and hard work they’ve poured into their small, family-operated business since purchasing it in 2015.

“To be recognised at a national level is an incredible honour,” Rebecca said.

“As a regional business in Lakes Entrance, it means so much to us to have our efforts to provide affordable, quality accommodation and genuine hospitality acknowledged across Australia.”

The Beachcomber team was one of only a handful of Victorian operators to receive a highly commended recognition, standing proudly alongside tourism giants from across the country. The awards night also coincided with Adelaide’s Fringe Festival, giving finalists a taste of the vibrancy that tourism brings to communities nationwide.

This achievement follows a string of accolades for Beachcomber Holiday Units, including gold at the 2024 Victorian Tourism Awards, Apartment of the Year at the Victorian Accommodation Awards for Excellence, and Winner of the Gippsland Business Awards – Accommodation category.

“We’re so proud to represent Lakes Entrance and East Gippsland on a national platform,” Marty said.

“We’re committed to making Lakes a year-round destination and continuing to support our local economy by partnering with regional suppliers, artists, and tourism operators.”

Beachcomber Holiday Units is located in the heart of Lakes Entrance and offers self-contained one, two and three bedroom holiday units. Known for their warmth, attention to detail, and exceptional guest experiences, the business has become a beloved base for families, couples, and travellers seeking coastal charm and comfort.
