The Lakes Entrance Ambulance Auxiliary have recently received monies from the Lakes Entrance Lions Club and the Lakes Entrance Bowls Club.
They received a cheque for $1000 for assisting the Lions Club in distributing drinks for the Bingo players.
“We were very appreciative of the cheque and after thanking them, we said it was sad news that they were closing down after all these years of giving so much to the community,” president of the Lakes Entrance Ambulance Auxiliary Avis Salisbury said.
“We are hoping they will get more volunteers and remain an active organisation here in Lakes Entrance.”
The auxiliary was also invited to attend the Lakes Entrance Bowls Club on St Patrick’s Day to receive a donation along with Gail Webster from Neighbourhood House.
The bowls club have a novel way to raise funds for such donations, when playing if the bowl goes in the gutter, they pay a fine.
“It is a unique way of raising funds while having fun,”
Avis said.
“Margo Short from the Bowls Club reported they raised $670, which is pretty good from people’s mistakes. $335 for each of the organisations.”
