This week’s annual Lakes Entrance parkrun attracted a smaller than usual muster with only 40 participants pounding the pavement.
The field was led home by Paul Etheridge in a tick over 22 minutes, with first time competitor Harry Hall (22.04) hot on his heels, and youngster Brodie Darcy (22.48) again putting in a great effort, crossing the line in third place.
The first woman across the line was Amy Hellings (26.17), good enough for 11th place overall.
Pleasingly the event attracted 15 first-time runners and two individuals broke personal best times, with six running groups represented.
Personal best times were put in by Harvey Scott (24.53) and Caroline Evans (27.48).
Running groups represented in the event were Lakes and District Runners, Australia Post Group, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Everlasting Fitness Runner, Wild Dog Triathlon and Team Veteran.
The five-kilometre run departs each Saturday at 8am from the rotunda on the foreshore.
