There were lean numbers on the weekly Lakes Entrance parkrun, which was taken out by Manning Park Trail Runners’ Mitchell Crook, who was having his first look at the five-kilometre course along the foreshore.
The event attracted only 34 participants, who started off their Saturday morning in the best possible way by joining like-minded people to walk, jog, run or in some cases all three.
There were eight first timers and four individuals broke personal best times, with eight running group represented.
Crook finished in 19 minutes and 24 seconds, crossing the line ahead of Reece Sandwith (19.50) and Nathan East (21.00)
For consecutive weeks, the first woman across the line was Lauren Hemingway (24.42) in ninth place overall.
Personal best times were put in by Wright Patterson (22.58), Ashton Linford (24.42),Emma Terjesen (26.26) and Greg Dell (32.27).
Terjesen has continually bettered her time in recent weeks, this week slicing an incredible 52 seconds off.
Running groups represented in the event were Manning Park Trail Runners, Lakes and District Runners, Australia Post Group, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Everlasting Fitness Group, Wonthaggi Road Runners, Victorian Masters Athletics and Tuggeranong Vikings Triathlon Club.
