Sale’s Ben Osmond ran a personal best time of 17 minutes and 34 seconds in crossing the line in the coveted first place in last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun.
Osmond finished ahead of local Tully Davis (18.07) and Harry Morgan (18.34), who was completing the five-kilometre Esplanade run for the first time.
The event again attracted a big starting field of 107 people who ran, jogged and walked the course.
Pleasingly the field saw 35 first timers hit the pavement with 11 recording new personal bests and nine clubs represented.
The first female across the line was teenager Amy Boote (19.32) in her first look at the course, crossing the line in eighth overall.
Other significant personal bests included Lloyd James (19.07), Jimmy Brand (19.29) and Matt De Freitas (22.01).
Running groups represented in the event were Lakes and District Runners, Sale and District Runners, Out and About Running, Traralgon Harriers, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Speedy Geese, Running Mums Australia, Victorian Ultra Runners and Wangaratta Runners.
The run departs every Saturday at 8am from the rotunda.
