Although there may be no formal Australia Day ceremonies in Lakes Entrance this year there is still the famous Duck Race happening on the foreshore for all to enjoy.
This annual event includes market stalls and
food trucks from 2pm to 9pm, with the big race happening at 4pm.
Ducks are on sale from 2pm at a cost of five dollars per duck or five for $20. First prize is $250, second, third and last get a Lakes Entrance Aqua Park pass to the value of $100.
It is always an exciting time when everyone lines the shore of the lake or the footbridge to see the race.
The day’s events are held on the grassed area of the foreshore next to the footbridge.
